Howard University’s 144th commencement

I had the honor of being invited to the graduation commencement at Howard University.  My dear friend, Julieanna Richardson was awarded and honorary Doctor of Humanities.  She has The HistoryMakers, an archive of the oral histories of African Americans.  Her program is second only to Steven Spielberg’s Shoah Foundation that collects oral histories of  Jewish Americans.

The other recipients were John Legend, Chris Matthews and Isabel Wilkerson.  The event was wonderful and the day clear and bright.  The 2,500 other graduates filled the yard as well as professors at the University.  The speeches were so well done, tears were flowing often at poignant moments.

We are all so proud of Julieanna.

About What The Traveler Saw

What The Traveler Saw is what I want to share with you. I amass goods from around the world that represent the countries I visit. I no longer have a shop but I am encouraging all to join me on the trips we took before and the new ones ... Come See, What The Traveler Saw. This is how I see my world... I find myself at a time in my life that I am focused now on seeing how gifted my life is, how healthy I still am and how aware I am of my strengths and weaknesses. My loves are clearer to me after having a celebrated life of lots of good and a bit of bad. But, that just gave me the insight that I have worked with up to now. Come on...Let's see what's in the world we live in!

I’m glad to hear how wonderful the Howard University was. I was suppose to attend A’s my goddaughter was in that graduating class. I missed due to work.

Congratulations to your friend that received that award!

Success and Blessings to you and your store. I truly love it and mentally revisit my travels to Europe while browsing!
