It’s a wonderful world

Laurel Stradford travels the world and has since she was a little girl.  Her first piece of art work was a world map that hung for decades on her bedroom wall, it still hangs, in her store…What The Traveler Saw.  Now instead of it being pinned only on her destinations, it also has pins from her customers and their homeland.

Travel and how do to it easily has become a trademark of sorts.  Her interest in the ancient world helps define what’s happening in our modern world.  Therefore, she is ticking off her bucket list of places to see that outdate the United States.  So instead of always traveling alone, she invites up to 15 people to accompany her on these forays into the past.

My travel is about story. Adventure. Heroes. Villains. Secrets. People in between. And most importantly treasure, whatever that represents in country and culture.

My travel is about education. Small local hotels. Off-the-beaten- path restaurants and shopping. Bespoke routes. Real people. Real places.

My travel is about maps and photos. Focused. Not Fancy. Henry Miller said, “One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” This report is that.

My travel is me and my search for self, global understanding and historical perspective.  Come See What The Traveler Saw, with me…

Hope to see and/or hear from you soon…Laurel

About What The Traveler Saw

What The Traveler Saw is what I want to share with you. I amass goods from around the world that represent the countries I visit. I no longer have a shop but I am encouraging all to join me on the trips we took before and the new ones ... Come See, What The Traveler Saw. This is how I see my world... I find myself at a time in my life that I am focused now on seeing how gifted my life is, how healthy I still am and how aware I am of my strengths and weaknesses. My loves are clearer to me after having a celebrated life of lots of good and a bit of bad. But, that just gave me the insight that I have worked with up to now. Come on...Let's see what's in the world we live in!
